Mother’s Day has always been a special day at Liberty! This year will be no different. Every mother present in our 10:45 AM or 6:00 PM service will receive a free gift as a token of our appreciation for all a mother stands for. There will be special recognition given to several special mothers in our audience as well. If you are mom and do not have a church home, please be our honored guest that Sunday morning at 10:45.

During our 6:00 PM service, we will have our Baby Dedication ceremony. This is always a special time in the life of a family. You may register your family and child for Baby Dedication using the form below.

Our 2012 Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 12, at 2:00 PM at Lake Winds Golf Course. All proceeds from this year’s event will go toward Liberty Christian School Athletic Department upgrades. We are in the process of converting our softball field into a baseball-ready field.

Fundraising comes from tournament sponsorship, hole sponsorship, purchase of mulligans, and individual entry fees.

*$50 includes game, catered meal, and skills competition for prizes.

The Inspirations have been a staple in traditional Southern Gospel music since the founding of the group in 1964. Martin Cook was a high school chemistry and physics teacher in Bryson City, NC, when he put the group together. Throughout the years, the Inspirations have recorded songs such as, “Jesus is Coming Soon, “Touring that City,” “When I Wake Up to Sleep No More,” “It’s Still the Blood,” and more current songs like “I Won’t Turn My Back on Him Now,” “I Have Not Forgotten,” and “God Makes No Mistakes.” They have been featured several times in Singing News magazine and at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Inspirations will be at Liberty Baptist Church on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM in the LBC Auditorium. Admission is free, and there will be a love offering taken. Doors will open at 6:00. There will be a nursery provided for children 4 years old and younger. Don’t miss this night of great music and fun!

“Dave McCroskey’s life has been marked by the physical adversity and challenges that God has given to him. As an infant David’s oral cavity was disfigured and severely damaged by a rare, aggressive tumor. In addition, he was also diagnosed with polyarticular, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis which has left David’s joints in a crippled and chronically painful state. The arthritis spread to David’s eyes as a teenager resulting in complete blindness in one eye as well as limited vision in the other. In 21 years, David has undergone 29 surgeries, 7 years of speech therapy, 9 years of physical therapy, and an innumerable number of hospital stays and doctor visits. Now as a senior in college, David has published a book entitled The Best Day of Your Life: Conquering Adversity through Acceptance, Attitude, and Action where he writes of overcoming obstacles, living life to its fullest potential, and using difficulty to help the struggling ones surrounding you.”

This event begins at 10:45 AM Sunday. Free childcare will be provided.

All junior-aged (4yr – 12 yr) kids will be welcomed to the Walker Cowboy Carnival during the service! Games and rides include a mechanical bull, inflatables, and a miniature horse.

Tuesday morning sessions for adults will begin at 9:00. At 10:00 AM, Bro. Freddy DeAnda will preach in a special Youth Chapel Service. Please bring young people from your church and school! Free pizza and soft drinks will be provided for any youth or school groups in attendance. All Senior Pastors and their guests are invited to a free lunch following the morning sessions.

This Tournament is a dual fundraiser. One half of the profits will go for the Liberty Youth Missions Team and the other half will go to the Liberty Christian School playground fund to purchase new playground equipment in the near future. This is a best ball tournament. Food will be provided. Shotgun start will be at 2:00 PM.
